9 Sunday Funday Recipe: Let’s have some fun with Choco-Dipped-Biscuits HEALTHY Sunday FundayKids with Sunday Funday with Kids is curated especially with recipes that are for kids and youngsters who are keen to cook for their near and dear ones. These recipes require no gas stoves that are fun for teens and children who love cooking. Family time is full of fun when everyone sits together but today because we all are so busy with our schedules, tend to forget. So let’s remember those times and spend some quality time with family. • 1 Marie gold biscuit packet • melted dark chocolate • 1 tsp butter • colourful sprinklers • shredded almonds • edible silver/golden balls INGREDIENTS: • Take a large bowl with melted chocolate and butter. Mix well. • Place an aluminium foil on a flat plate. • Take one Marie biscuit and dip it in the melted chocolate sauce to quote it nicely. Place it on the foil plate. • Repeat step-3 for all the Marie biscuits. • Decorate the chocolate biscuits with either colourful sprinklers or edible silver/golden balls or shredded almonds. • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. • Enjoy your Choco-Dipped-Biscuits! METHOD:
METHOD: • In a large pan, heat ghee. Add semolina and roast on low flame until turns aromatic. • Add milk to the roasted semolina and stir well. Make sure there are no lumps. • Now add sugar as per your taste and stir again until it melts in the mixture. • Cook the modak mixture until it starts holding shape. Cover with a lid and let it simmer for 2 minutes. • Now you can add the cardamom powder and give it a quick mix. • Transfer the cooked batter to a large plate and let it cool slightly. Knead the batter to form a soft dough. • Prepare the modak mould by greasing it with some ghee. • Stuff the modak mixture to the mould and add some dry fruits. • Shape properly and garnish with saffron strands. Enjoy with Karnataka’s Special Puran Poli Prepared by Mrs. Vaishali Chandrakant Patil 11 Mrs. Vaishali Chandrakant Patil Universal Crown Director Kolhapur (Maharashtra) F R OM T H E K I T C H E N O F • ¼ tsp turmeric • 1 cup maida • salt as taste • LITE HOUSE Rice Bran Oil as required • water as required • 1 cup soaked chana dal • ¼ tsp turmeric • ¼ tsp cardamom powder • 1 cup jaggery • ¼ cup rice flour for dusting INGREDIENTS: METHOD: • Prepare a soft dough with maida, a pinch of salt, turmeric, and water as required. Cover with dough with 1 tsp of LITE HOUSE Rice House Oil and keep it aside for at least 3 hours. • For the filling, pressure cook the soaked chana dal, 1 tsp LITE HOUSE Rice Bran Oil, turmeric, salt as per taste and water until 3 whistles. • Drain the excess water from the cooked chana dal. Transfer to a large kadai. • Add jaggery to the chana dal and grind the chana dal with jaggery in a mixture grinder to form a smooth paste. • Cook until the mixture starts to hold shape. Now add cardamom powder and some LITE HOUSE Rice Bran Oil to cook for a minute or until the mixture leaves the pan. • Let the mixture cool and then grease your hands to make small balls of the stuffing. • Take the dough in small ball size and roll it out flat on the surface to fill it with the mixture balls. Repeat the process for the rest of the dough too. • Take one stuffed dough ball and flatten it again like a roti. Cook it on a hot tawa with oil as required. Cook well on both sides. Repeat for the rest of the stuffed dough balls. • Your Special Puran Polis are ready to be served hot or as you like it. Enjoy!

Saute cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, and kasuri methi till it turns aromatic. • Now add coriander powder, kashmiri lal mirch, and turmeric. Saute on low flame for a few seconds. • Add onions and ginger-garlic paste to mix well. • Further add tomato and saute until they turn mushy. • Add potato to the mixture with the required salt. Mix well. • Now add peas, green chilli, and water. Mix really well to get everything combined. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles or until cooked completely. • Once the pressure settles, mash everything slightly to match the consistency well. • Lastly add garam masala with fresh coriander leaves to garnish. • Enjoy your Aloo Matar with hot rotis!
